Ombré, it's an obsession!

Time for a little vocabulary lesson, brought to you by the french word ombre.

Ombré: shaded or graduated in tone: said for a color
I'm obsessed with ombre hair coloring. It's super easy to maintain, and gives a fresh look to the old highlight routine. I have a few pictures I've taken with my phone that I'll use for now, but a photo shoot is in the works. I can't wait!

This beautiful girl came in needing a color correction. She had hot brassy gold roots and dark muddy ends. Too bad I forgot to take a before picture. It was really fun to create the look she actually wanted and with that big smile, I'm pretty sure she was in love.

My beautiful friend Shara, who looks amazing with black, brunette or blonde hair, decided to have both blonde and brunette this time around. So we lifted out all the dark and replaced it with a brunette base and blonde ends. When you have dark hair like this and you're trying to get blonde ends, it's not easy. It took about 4-5 hours to achieve. Your hair might need a little t.l.c. if you're doing a big transition like this, but nothing Aveda Damage Remedy shampoo and conditioner can't fix. The photo's will show the transition.

She is lucky she's able to get away with different colors! I'd have to say that I like the "immediatley after" photo best. Her hair looks like it has volume. Good job Shana!
